miocene fields
powerful winds gust over the prehistoric prairie, rattling the grasses and disturbing insects. various species of ungulate graze in the surrounding mileage. they are grouped loosely into herds, seeking safety in numbers.
every once in a while, an enormous herbivore bull bellows in the distance, reminding his cows and his rivals who's boss of the territory. startled by an unusual scent, a herd of dinohippus rushes past. smaller, earlier mammals occasionally scurry through the stalks of grass as well, squabbling with either their fellows, or the archeohippus whose hoof came down a bit too close for comfort.
